Seeing Sideways
In this tutorial, learn how to create a surreal sideways edit!
Step 1
Open a photo of a person from the back in the photo editor. You can use one of your own photos or find a #FreeToEdit image in the app. Tap on the Tool icon and select the Free Crop Tool.

Tap on the circular icon and select a small brush size.

Use your finger or stylus to select the figure. You can perform a two-finger pinch to zoom in as you go for a more precise selection. When you’re done, tap on the heart icon to save your selection as a custom Clipart image. Tap on the X twice to close your image.

Open a photo of mountains. Tap on the Tool icon and select the Free Crop Tool again.

Step 5
Select a portion of the mountain and tap on the heart icon to save it as a custom Clipart image. When you’re done, tap on the X to close the Free Crop Tool.

Step 6
Because we’ll be rotating this photo, we’ll need to have more sky in the image. Tap on the Square Fit icon from the bottom toolbar.

Step 7
Use two fingers to rotate the image 90 degrees. Tap on the “Color” option at the bottom of the screen (the white background will make it easier to see your image as you place it).

Drag the image to the right, leaving blank space for the sky. Tap on the check mark to confirm.

Tap on the Tool icon and open the Selection Tool.

Drag your finger to select a rectangular portion of the sky.

Tap on the dotted square icon in the top-left corner.

Select “Copy” and then select “Paste.”

Drag the edges of the shape to enlarge it.

Drag the shape to place it so it aligns with the rest of the image. Tap on the check mark to confirm.

Tap on the check mark again to confirm.

Tap on the Clipart icon.

Select the “My Clipart” section.

Select your mountain Clipart image.

Drag the arrows icon in the bottom right corner to enlarge the Clipart image. Drag the image to place it in the bottom-right corner.

Tap on the paintbrush icon.

Use your finger or stylus to erase the edges of the Clipart image. Tap on the check mark to confirm.

Tap on the plus sign and select “Clipart.”

Select the Clipart image of the person and place him on your image. Tap on the plus sign and select “Clipart” again.

Tap on the back arrow.

Select the “In the Sky” package.

Select an image of a cloud.

Drag the image so that the cloud appears at the feet of the person.

Tap on the plus sign and select “Clipart.”

Add a few more cloud Clipart images. When you’re done, tap on the check mark to confirm.
